Christmas Decorations

We have a house full of Christmas decorations and Christmas music. Getting ready for “the most wonderful time of the year.” Shopping, wrapping presents, eating all the traditional Christmas food and candies, spending time with family and most important celebrating the birth of our Saviour. *Sigh* Now we are just missing the piles of snow! There was snow on the ground this morning, but nothing like Michigan snow! I guess that gives me a reason to visit my family *smile*

Several weeks ago I started the hobby of candle making and I am enjoying  it immensely. Here are some pictures of candles I have made.  If you have any suggestions of a  creative way to make a candle let me know, I love experimenting. Also, if you are interested in buying any they are priced well and smell good. Just call me or e-mail for scents and prices.

Most of you who know me would say, “I cant’ believe you, Ashley!” The reason for this is I am very strong in my feelings toward Christmas decorations not going up until the beginning of December or after Thanksgiving. Well this year I couldn’t help myself. We don’t have a tree, that will come after Thanksgiving.

Mylon bought me a Willow Tree Nativity set as my engagement present, the stars which my brother bought me and the crèche which Mylon had made for a separate present, I didn’t get to use last year. So I was very excited to put it up. Saturday we re-arranged the living to make room for the nativity and a tree. I love the new feel of the living room and most of all the nativity set is beautiful. What a wonderful reminder of the Greatest Gift of All!

New Member of the Family

Mylon and I are so excited!!! It’s a bit early for a Christmas present but that’s what we’ll call it. We would like to announce that a new member has joined our family, Mocha. Okay I admit it’s my new little Yorkshire terrier, but I did have you going for a second…didn’t I?

He really is my early Christmas present. A new little friend to keep me company around the house when Mylon works those late nights. I can’t complain because he’s making the money to pay the bills but I do get lonely sometimes. Thank you Mylon for my early Christmas gift!

On our way back from picking up our new little friend, we had to drive on a road with many twists and turns. Now remember we have a puppy that has never been on a car ride. He seemed to be doing fine, but I found out fairly soon that he was car sick. One time is reasonable, but no he got car sick 3 times and all 3 were on MY lap. Oh the joys of getting a new puppy!

Adding Personality to Our Home

Mylon & I spent Friday evening planting holly bushes and mums to liven up the front porch. We had a fun time and it adds character to our ever changing home. I also added some hanging baskets and a few fall decorations provided by Kimberly Albright(my mother-in-law) Thank you! Besides the mosquito bites and dirty fingernails, I had the opportunity to spend quality time with my wonderful husband.
